Python Parallel Port

17 April 2008

[LPT] Controlling the parallel port from Windows with Python sounds simple enough. Indeed, there are plenty of solutions out there on the web. But all the ones I found were tied to specific versions of Windows, required installation scripts, admin privileges and/or were bloated. So I wrote my own: one DLL and a lightweight Python wrapper is all that's needed. Simple is better.

The commuter hub at Google has an informal library people can raid for reading material on the shuttles. There are the usual suspects: Donald Knuth, Isaac Asimov, Dave Barry. Some wag donated "Teach Yourself QBasic in 21 Days". Makes me smile.
