The container crane that's 100m from our office was the attempted exit for this teenager on Friday. Suicide is very popular here, I calculate that 2% of Elgin's population throws themselves in front of passing trains. There's no mention of any of it in the media, they're scared of being blamed for encouraging it.
I'm fortunate, I've got my work and my studies to keep me occupied. But for most others, the only available activity in town is getting drunk at the pubs. There's absolutely nothing else to do here.
