Library 2/4: Floor

This is the second of four weekly videos detailing the construction of a library in our home. In this video we build the floor of the library.
It would have involved less cutting and custom work to lay the floorboards lengthwise. However, I intend to line the long wall with heavy bookshelves, so laying the floorboards in the manner I did allows the weight to be spread out rather than being concentrated on just two boards. This choice also matches the direction of the floor in the room below.
