Dodecahedron Lamp

This table lamp was missing a shade. The glare of the naked bulb was rather unbearable. A lamp shade needed to be built.
I bought some brass tubing and cut it into 4" lengths. Copper wire formed the connection points.
A folded paper template allowed precise angles to be maintained during soldering.
The dodecahedron came together with surprising speed. A coat of Brasso made it nice and shiny.
I drew ten pentagons onto a plain white sheet then cut the shape out, washed and ironed it.
Hemming the edges and double-stiching all the joints took a while.
Finally the vertices of the fabric were tied to the vertices of the structure. Let there be light.
